ISTRID develops three basic types of activities:
• Research Activities
• Training Activities
• Wide public information and sensitization activities
It is possible to learn more about these activities through the official publications of ISTRID, as well as its conferences and seminars.
In particular, ISTRID is committed to develop research on the following topics:
• European defense policy and its implications in the context of the Atlantic Alliance;
• military spending, defense budgets of the major nations, military planning and programming;
• the dynamics and characteristics of local conflicts;
• the role of industry operating in the defense sector and its place within Europe, including the technological implications for civil sector;
• civil protection in the vast area of civil defense and the role of the Armed Forces
For its activities – research studies, education and information - the Institute relies on a number of high level scientific committees.
